Hard Of Hearing Mobile Phones

Although being able to text using a mobile phone is of great benefit for those with hearing impairment being able to chat on a mobile like everyone else is what most people would like.

There are mobile phones made by mainstream makers that can be used with people who have a hearing aid. For those whose hearing isn't bad enough to need a hearing aid then a specialised mobile phone for the hard of hearing is probably the best solution.

One such phone is the Amplicom Powertel M5010 GSM Mobile Phone which is the latest version of the highly popular Amplicom PowerTel M5000 Mobile Phone which is still available.

The phone is supplied sim free and has extra large buttons for those with problems with their sight or dexterity. The volume of the handset can be increased by up to 23dB and the handset ringer up 100dB, and there is a vibration mode option. It is also hearing aid compatible, has a neat little cradle to place it in when charging up and there's a big SOS button of the back for emergencies.

While it only does the basics and doesn't take photos or play music, it does what it needs to do in a straightforward and easy manner so that even someone who is a technophobe will be able to receive and make calls along with receiving and sending text messages.

Here'a video review of the Amplicom PowerTel M5010 showing how easy it is to use.
